Benin, Geography

It is a narrow,north south in length, lying between the Equator and the Tropic of Cancer.Its area is 112,622 km sq. Benin extends from the Niger River in the north to the south, a distance of 650 km. its coast line is small, 121km.Its area is less than the area of Tamil nadu of India.








The country can be divided geographically into four parts from north to south. 1. Low lying sndy coastal plain, 2. Marshy and dotted with with lakes and lagoons, 3. The plateau of southern Benin, 4. Valleys running north to south.








in the north and the north-west of benin the reserve du Wdu Niger and Pendjari national park attract tourists eager to see different animals like elephant, lions, hippos, and monkeys.
