Central African Republic, Introduction


The central African Republic (CAR) is one of Africa's less-developed and less known country. It is land locked country with 2,000 to 3,000 ft high above sea level, stretching from savannah lands in the north to dense rain forest in the south. The country possesses rich timber and mineral resources including diamond, uranium, iron and copper and grows cash crops, cotton and coffee. But it has very poor infrastructure.All goods must travel via the shallow Oubangui River to Brazzaville and keep the country depressed, resources underexplored and imports costly.
The rank of CAR from the poorest countrry is 16th. and from the richest country is 171th. according as National Av.per capita income using Atlas method (est.2003). Per capita income, atlas method(est 20030 is 260.
