DRC, Economy

The economy of DRC, a nation endowed with resources of vast potential weaith, had declined drastically since the mid-1980s .The two recent conflicts (first and secind Congo wars), which had begun in 1996, had dramatically reduced national output and gov. revenue, had increased external debt and ha resulted in deaths of more than five millionpeople from war, associated famine and diseases. A united nations Human Development Index report shows human dev. to be one of the worst in decades.
