The United States is home to thousands of different lakes. Some are in high mountain areas, while others are at low elevations. Each of these lakes also varies in surface area from the very small to the largest, Lake Superior.
The following is a list of the top ten largest lakes by surface area in the United States. Their locations have also been included for reference.
1) Lake Superior
