The Japanese Govt. had made available about US $15 millionfor the rehabilitationand upgrading of the MasaukoChipemberehigh way in Malawi'scommercial capital, Blantyre.
The road rehabilitation programme is financed by a pool of donors , which in adition to the Japanese Govt. includes the European union, the World Bank, the African Development Bank, the Govt. of the peoples Rep. of China, the Kuwiti fund for International development, the Arab Bank for economic Development and the Organisation for Petroleum Exporting Countries Fund.
